More Summer Finds and Decisions to Make

I wanted to share my finds with you from the past few weeks.  The first includes some from my last post.
May leave it chippy; haven't decided yet.

Making this into a pillow...gorgeous crochet lace.

Love my birds and vintage silver balls!

Got these at an out of the way antique store.

So excited to find these at a yard sale!!

Trunk 70% off at a store closing at the outlet mall.

wood basket, metal lace dish, apothecary jar, light duo
Jar with dyed trees I'm working on.

crystals, tiny embroidered pin, jeweled heart
Pretty ugly now...

I have lots of plans for all these.  I am seriously thinking about doing a home craft show.  I have done them before and they are a lot of work.  I transform our living room into a Christmas boutique.  I have a lot to think about and I know it is totally my decision.  I do plan on selling on Etsy, which is still a work in progress since I'm not well known on there.  I know that there are craft shows I could probably get a booth in, but just not sure I want to go that route again.  Lots of work, lots of competition, lots of....hmmm...lots of everything!  I really miss the good 'ol days when craft shows & crafter's markets were beyond popular; they were booming!  I sold soooo much then!  There is so much that is made in China & elsewhere that can be cute & CHEAP!  I just don't want to work on all this stuff & pack a lot of it up at the end of the season.  I used to travel to be in Christmas shows, but those days are over.  I will have to tell you some stories sometime of my adventures!!  Tell me your plans for selling your items.  I'd love to hear about your endeavors.  Have a fantabulous day!!
Blessings,
Cindy

I was just thinking of you! Its always 'fun' to plan out and create for a show.. but man it is a lot of work now a days AND you are so right with all the China crap ~made~ to look old is so plentiful and cheap! No we haven't sold our house. No we haven't had any lookers. No one seems to be buying a normal house that is not foreclosed upon nowadays. (sad face)

Cindy,

You should definitely consider etsy. I know it is large but there are also more buyers heading there than ever before. The decor you've made in the past is precious and I know there are buyers out there for you.

Does your new home town have any boutiques or independently owned gift shops? It does take a bit of courage but you could take ready made samples to places like that and work out a sales agreement.

Or are antique shops with rented space available would they let you resell there since most of what you make has a vintage appeal?

Hi Cindy,
I so enjoyed meeting you in person! What a blessing!
I love all your goodies and can't wait to see what you do with them. I'm sure you'll do great on Etsy. And yes, shows are SO much work. That's why I opted creating my shoppe online. I don't have to move it! :)
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs,
Sonya
