More Summer Finds and Decisions to Make

I wanted to share my finds with you from the past few weeks.  The first includes some from my last post.
May leave it chippy; haven't decided yet.

Making this into a pillow...gorgeous crochet lace.

Love my birds and vintage silver balls!

Got these at an out of the way antique store.

So excited to find these at a yard sale!!

Trunk 70% off at a store closing at the outlet mall.

wood basket, metal lace dish, apothecary jar, light duo
Jar with dyed trees I'm working on.

crystals, tiny embroidered pin, jeweled heart
Pretty ugly now...

I have lots of plans for all these.  I am seriously thinking about doing a home craft show.  I have done them before and they are a lot of work.  I transform our living room into a Christmas boutique.  I have a lot to think about and I know it is totally my decision.  I do plan on selling on Etsy, which is still a work in progress since I'm not well known on there.  I know that there are craft shows I could probably get a booth in, but just not sure I want to go that route again.  Lots of work, lots of competition, lots of....hmmm...lots of everything!  I really miss the good 'ol days when craft shows & crafter's markets were beyond popular; they were booming!  I sold soooo much then!  There is so much that is made in China & elsewhere that can be cute & CHEAP!  I just don't want to work on all this stuff & pack a lot of it up at the end of the season.  I used to travel to be in Christmas shows, but those days are over.  I will have to tell you some stories sometime of my adventures!!  Tell me your plans for selling your items.  I'd love to hear about your endeavors.  Have a fantabulous day!!
Blessings,
Cindy

Country Girls Outdoor Flea Market and Treasures Found

The Country Girls Outdoor Flea Market was so much fun.  I ended up going with a friend and we got there about 15 minutes early.  There was already a line and it was hot.  The show itself was beautifully done in the backyard of one of the sisters' homes and it is gorgeous.  The home is two story & I would have loved to see the inside!!  The grounds were lush, green, and flower filled.  Each booth had fresh flowers (lots of hydrangeas) in containers for decoration, as well as on the tables where people could sit & enjoy some goodies they had for purchase.  My friend and I did get some of the refreshing lavender lemonade.  Although I wanted more, I ended up buying only one item, but I was pretty thrilled with it.  It is missing one tube, but I don't mind.  I'm planning on decorating them to sell individually.

Every booth was filled with vintage and/or handmade items and there was a lot of furniture that was shabby chic and paris inspired.  It was a lovely event with live music;  a guy playing guitar was quite good.  It was obvious that it is a well-liked event in the area.  I would definitely go again, but would love it to be a little cooler!  But that is my problem!!  LOL!

My purchases from the Vintage Marketplace the previous weekend are below.  The item with the bird is really cool because it opens up into a four~way stand and it about 2 feet tall.  I thought it would be a neat item to hold jewelry or ornaments for a show.  I absolutely fell in love with it!  I will also use it in my living room as an architectural piece. The black piece will probably go in our family room.

The item below is a Real Deals piece that I got 20% off the same day as the Vintage Marketplace.

My next post will have my yard sale and thrift store finds from this summer.  Have a great week!

Cindy

Vintage Marketplace in Eugene was wonderful!

I was so happy to be able to make it down to Eugene on Saturday to go to the Vintage Marketplace!  This was their 2nd show, the 1st being in June, but I didn't hear about that one, darn it!  Barb is the owner of "Treasures from the Heart", a store with lots of cool vintage items and things that Barb has made in the same flavor.  Barb is an absolute delight & I loved being able to meet her.  The Vintage Marketplace is set up in the yard in front of her store, with several vendors with booths of their own.  There is quite a variety of quality items, vintage & handmade.  I am borrowing a few photos from Barb's blog that she so graciously allowed me to use.  Thank you so much, Barb!

Here is a peek at some of the items that were available...

Here is Barb herself!

And that isn't including inside the store!!  Barb has everything in her store organized in nice vignettes and each room is full of eye candy!  Here is her address if you live in the Eugene, Oregon area.  You won't regret visiting Barb's "Treasures from the Heart" store.  If you are lucky enough to live close by, Barb will be having another Vintage Marketplace on November 19th!  I'll be there!!

I got a couple of treasures at the show, but don't have time to work on the pictures, so I will share them soon.  I could have gotten a lot more, for sure!  I always tend to wish I'd picked up some items that I passed on, whenever I go to a show.  Oh well, I still did good!!

Next is the  COUNTRY GIRLS OUTDOOR FLEA MARKET in Sweet Home, Oregon, starting tomorrow!  Too much fun in one month!!   Happy Thursday Everyone!

So much to do, so little time...

I captured a field on my morning walk.

I have so much I want to share, but don't have the time today. I have several cool "finds" that I need to take photos of, a Vintage show I went to in Eugene this past weekend, and another one this weekend in Sweet Home.  So much fun!!  But for now, I am editing my sister's book and it is taking tons of time.  I want to do a good job for her and make sure the changes I make are what God wants in this manuscript.  Of course, now a days, it is all digital & sent over email.  I will be going to see my sister in Bend at the end of the month to do the final touches & for her to read every little story, poem, & vignette to make sure they say what she meant them to say.  It will take many hours to get everything organized into chapters & matched with photos.  I have them all in tentative chapters, but we are changing the chapter names & putting things into a little different order.  Whew!  I can't even tell you how much time I have spent working on my sis's book over the last year & a half.  Anyway, I'll be gone for a few days doing that, visiting our kids, and my friend, Melody.  I'll fit in at least a few hours hitting the local thrift stores with my bff!  I'll try to post before I leave.  But for now, I need to get back to work!
Blessings,
Cindy

My Summer Travels in pictures & it's my birthday!

I thought I would share some pictures of my summer so far.  I've been working on my photography for awhile now and there are several blogs that inspire me to learn more.  I need to learn to put my name on them... I know.  Gotta learn to do it!!

Here's the Three Sisters Mountains in Central Oregon...
 Two of the Sisters...
Mt. Washington as you drive on Hwy 20/Santiam Pass...

Here's some of the coast when we went for our 34th anniversary weekend in June...

There was a Summer Kite Festival going on in Lincoln City.  This is what we saw as we rounded the corner into downtown...

And here was the sunset from our hotel balcony...
Today was my birthday.  I had a nice day going to a couple yard sales, thrift stores, and an italian lunch.  Tomorrow, I get to enjoy being with my hubby as we head to the coast for an overnight stay.  I got a hotel for a good price back in June through Groupon.  Have you heard of that?  It is worth checking out.  Then on Saturday, our daughter, her boyfriend, and one of our daughters~in~love get to come join us for the day.  Can't Wait!!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Cindy
