Finished Studio pics & giveaway win from Where The Grass is Greener...

Finished Studio!

I'm happy to say that my studio is finished (as finished as any craft room can be)!  My hubby did a great job making my desk, framing the pegboard, & adding the shelves; he wanted plenty of storage for me (including closet...see below).  I wanted to make it pretty and functional; accent on the pretty! Someday I would love to paint the walls, but that just isn't gonna happen any time soon.  Let me give you a tour...

I covered the ugly stencils!

The finished scissor holder & jar with antique laces.

Love my glitter!
Had to cover up the contents of these bins.  What do you think?
The opposite side of the room is our office space.  I'm not ready to show that!!  I also have a walk in closet that is full of shelves that my hubby put in & I have filled them, of course.  I have lots of small drawer units, plastic recycled jars that I spray painted the lids spa blue, plastic containers, & whatever else I could find to hold things.  Here's a few pics...

My assortment of glassware.
More bins...

Some scrapbooking stuff...

Now on to my giveaway win...

I received my package from Renee of "Where The Grass Is Greener" blog.  The Courage collage/plaque is just fabulous & after seeing it, my hubby said it was manly & really liked it.  Renee said that with 3 boys, she had planned it to be just that; manly & handsome.  I must agree it is "handsome".  Beautiful work, Renee!  Thanks so much to Renee for having a giveaway & we will enjoy the plaque for years to come.
I put it in our bookcase on a stand.

I love the saying!

Delft's Blue Finds & a few studio pics...

I went to a yard sale a couple weeks ago and an elderly lady was selling part of her delft blue collection.  I don't know a thing about them, but they were pretty & I thought I could use some for my bottle brush trees.  I bought a few small ones that caught my eye.  I may end up selling some on Etsy but just not sure.  Are they anything special or just tchotchkes?  Any help on this would be appreciated!!

A vase & candleholder

Markings...

Tiny swans~ just 2" tall

2" egg cups~set of 4
So tiny!

The little dutch shoes are at home in my printers shelf with my other miniatures.  Nothing is over 2 1/2 inches tall, so they are little.  If you have any info for me on these, I'd love to hear from you.

Next is a couple of thrift store finds for my studio.  As I write this, paint is drying on both of these items!!
This will be totally full of scissors!

For my stamps...

Although I'm still tweaking, here are some studio pics...

The last thing I'll share today is my rainbows...
I have an arched window in the studio which cried out for crystals.  It makes a lovely effect on the walls & ceiling, even into the guest room across the hall.

Have a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Cindy

Pegboard Organizing Ideas & a giveaway I won

First I would like to thank Vicki from The Tapestry of Life.  I won her giveaway the end of May.  She had loaded up the box with all kinds of goodies!   I am happy to add the little girl bear to my collection; she is so cute.  There is also the pillow that matches my living~room perfectly.  The rose dish is just lovely.  I am sure I will enjoy using the note cards & the magnets too.  It is always nice to have those on hand & they are pretty too!  I'm sure I will find a sweet picture to go in the sweet frame too.  Here's a peek of what Vicki sent me.  I have them sitting on my new bargain trunk that my hubby found at a store going out of business for 70% off; only $29!  Thanks so much again, Vicki!  I am thrilled to win your giveaway.  Check out her blog at:  http://vickijf.blogspot.com/.

I've been working in my studio trying to get everything unpacked & purging as I go.  Why is it so hard to let craft supplies go?  I have so many types of crafts I've done & currently do, that I really should totally delete some of my old stuff.  That will be a decision that is ongoing, as I open each box.  I have gotten rid of a lot before we moved, but as I unpack, I know that getting my studio the way I want it will mean letting go of more.  I don't want to dig through clutter to find things I need or want to use on a project.  My hubby got my pegboard up & it is all framed in nicely.  I'll share a pic when I have it stocked.  It is challenging to make it look nice & not just a cluttered mess.  I have been searching on the internet for ideas on organizing my pegboard.  There are several good ones that I thought I'd share...
