Clay Tags and Life Changes

I had a wonderful weekend.  My daughter, Liz, was here visiting and we got to do a little crafting together.  Liz wanted to make some clay signs for her herb garden.  I made some tags to add to some baskets in my craft room.  I will add lettering later when I decide what I want to use them for.  Mine have glitter, of course!  I used a silver glitter clay mixed with some white for the lighter tags.
Liz will be adding some wire wrapped around the pieces then make them into stakes to poke into the ground.  Here are her clay tags...
Aren't they adorable??  I can't wait to see them totally finished!  That's my girl!!

Now onto other news...I got a job as a technician aide/film librarian at a Mammography Center.  I am very excited to start something new.  I had worked in an imaging center before, but mostly front desk.  Lots to learn and lots to organize.  Just my "cup of tea"!  I will post as often as I can.  There are still projects to do and show off, so I will be here!!

Have a fan~tabulous week!
Blessings,
Cindy

Shabby Chic Banner

I just finished another project for my studio. I will eventually hang it over the curtain on the window but not until I find the fabric I want to use.  I am leaning towards a pink and white toile, but want something airy and light.  I'm mulling around some ideas...
I used some things I got from Sandy at Quill Cottage and other goodies I have collected.  The letters are painted light pink and sprinkled with glass glitter.  I used some vintage laces too.

Blessings,
Cindy

Shabby Chic Lampshade

I gave you a little teaser on my Easter post about what I've been working on for my studio.  I finished it last night and the sun hasn't cooperated, so these pictures are not as good as they could be, which is frustrating!  But oh well, it is suppose to rain again, so I will post these anyway.

So here is the reveal...  My Shabby Chic Lampshade on my antique base....Tada!
I have had this lamp for many years.  I bought it at an estate sale for $3.00 and the lampshade I got at a yard sale a few years ago for $1.00.  I used antique laces, beaded trim, doilies, velvet ribbon, paper & fabric roses, other trims, buttons, and pearls.  I used several pieces that I have been saving.  The white fabric rose was in the goodies I got from Sandy at Quill Cottage; I knew that I had to use it first thing...that was my inspiration.  I raided my vintage laces and buttons.  The only thing I bought were the white paper roses for $5.00 {only used part of a package}.  Everything else I had on hand.  It is sitting on a doily that my Great~Aunt Myrtle made over 22 years ago.  It will go on my computer desk in my studio.  Here are some close ups...
What are you working on?  My next project is to finish something I started for my grand~daughters.  Even though they passed away, I am going to complete the banners for their memory boxes.  It is a labor of love...

Have a wonderful rest of your week!
Blessings,
Cindy

~Have a Blessed Easter~

Happy Easter Everyone!  Christ is Risen!!!
I'm so thankful for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.  I am a sinner saved by grace and wouldn't make it though all the trials in life without Him to carry me each step of the way.

I'm looking forward to making lunch for some of our kids on Sunday after church.  Our sons and daughters~in~love will be joining my wonderful hubby and me at our home.  I'm going traditional with the ham and making potato salad, homemade rolls, and strawberry mousse, my eldest son's choice.  I haven't made it in many years.  I will be busy cooking tomorrow {Saturday} so I won't have to do much on Sunday.

I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at what I am working on for my studio.  Can you guess?
May each one of you and your families have a Blessed Easter,
Cindy

Mahhhh~velous Mail!

I received more gifts from the Pink Present Giveaway, that I won from Shabby Cottage Shops a few months ago.  It has been a joy to receive such lovely gifts from such talented ladies!!

From "5 Dollar French Marche/Vintage Paris Market" I opened the package to the aroma of lavender.  Salpi enclosed all kinds of goodies including the lavender sachet in gorgeous fabric, muslin bags with stamp designs added, gift tags, cards, and peppermint scented soaps, etc.  She has an Etsy shop, website, and blog.  You may click on each to go visit.
My next gift was something I will share...an adorable American Girl outfit from "The Pillowcase Store/Creative Stitches by K on Etsy", complete with a fabric rose clip.  My 5 year old niece will love it, I'm sure.  She is a girlie~girl and loves pink.  I included it in a package with Easter things for her and her brother.
The last package was a big one...this lovely vintage Paris Flea Market garden planter.  It is cottage~y goodness from Bella Maison Tresors.  She also has an Etsy shop.  Also enclosed was a lovely shabby chic wood clip. I have many ideas on using the planter, so it will be a fav decor item in my home.
Have a wonderful day and I am going to try to get something made to share before Easter...

Blessings,
Cindy
